Rob Anderson elevated to the AIA College of Fellows

We are pleased to announce that Rob has been elevated to the prestigious College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects.

Over the past 32 years, Rob Anderson and Field Paoli, have led the renaissance and redefinition of the American shopping experience, with a design focus aimed at the creation of destinations that fulfill people’s social needs for community identity, participation, and entertainment.

Rob’s work has had a lasting and transformative impact on the shopping experience across the country. Most of us have been touched by the effects of Rob’s innovative design strategies – enjoyable shopping excursions defined by walkable outdoor spaces, people-scaled streetscapes, and nodes of interesting entertainment, art, or respite. Today, these design principles are prevalent and seen as essential baselines for shopping center and shopping district designs throughout the United States. More importantly, these ideas have inspired many cities to use architecture to revitalize their communities and downtowns.

Rob’s desire to give back is also apparent in his dedicated involvement in the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and related organizations, sharing his experience and knowledge around community revitalization and successful development with industry leaders. His work has influenced developers nationwide to incorporate strategies that foster urban regeneration, sustainable design, and social interaction.

On a local scale, Rob’s mentorship of young architects has inspired a generation of practitioners, including a new generation of women leaders at Field Paoli, transforming Field Paoli into the majority women-owned firm that it is today.

We are grateful for the spark you have ignited in our firm, our staff, and our clients through your legacy of projects and many accomplishments. Cheers to you Rob!
